Webco Manufacturing moves to a bigger space in Olathe, Kansas

“The GBA site development team was great to work with. From the get-go, they were tuned into providing the guidance needed to make the project happen”
- Cameron Duff, Commercial Brokers for Collier

The new nearly 200,000-square foot manufacturing and office building, replaces the current 80,000-square-foot building for Webco Manufacturing, Inc. Webco is an employee-owned industrial fabrication company headquartered in Olathe, Kan. The company purchased the land to develop the new manufacturing building in the South Olathe Business Park.

The new building sits on a 25.85-acre site with 185,000-square feet being used for manufacturing and the additional 15,000-square feet for office space.

GBA was hired by ARCO Construction to provide complete civil/site engineering design and land surveying for the $10.1 million project. Also included in the design were the parking lot, stormwater and detention basin, and utility extensions and tie-in to local utilities including 1,550 feet of storm sewer and 700 feet of sanitary sewer. In order to accommodate the permitting and planning approval, the project was placed on a fast-track schedule.

Webco is expected to move into the new building in Spring 2013.

“Webco’s expansion from an 80,000-sf lease to an almost 200,000-sf build-to-suit is incredibly significant for the city of Olathe, if not for the entire metro,” says Casey Wilhm, Olathe Chamber of Commerce Director of Business Retention & Expansion. “It’s certainly one of the largest industrial developments currently underway in the metro. It goes without saying we are extremely proud that Webco is part of our ever-expanding business community. Many thanks to the GBA team, whose involvement in the approval and design process was integral to the success of this project.”
– Casey Wilhm, Olathe Chamber of Commerce
