Tammy Sims Joins GBA as New Texas Market Leader
February 19, 2016 – Entering a new market can be scary, but that’s why GBA hired Tammy Sims. GBA is expanding its transportation services to Texas and Tammy brings over 28 years of experience as a former TxDOT employee as well as an engineer on the consultant side. She will focus her initial efforts on growing GBA’s presence within the DFW Region.
Sims will be responsible for business development, project operations/controls, submittal of statements of qualifications and management of projects in construction. She will work to establish GBA’s position in Texas to be a preferred provider for Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI), Construction Quality Assurance Firm (CQAF) and construction General Engineering Consultant (GEC) services.
“Texas is one of the hottest population growth states and transportation challenges are increasing for the traveling public. However, the Texas transportation family has an opportunity to shine with the huge funding support of the public and government. GBA is excited to help with these challenges by welcoming Tammy into our transportation family as she was part of the TxDOT family for 27 years,” said Jim Jarrett, GBA’s Bridge Group Principal and Vice President.
GBA was founded in Kansas City, Mo., in 1969 and today has 200 employees headquartered in eight offices in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Illinois and Texas. The firm serves primary markets including building design, transportation, water environment, land planning, civil/site development, municipal engineering and surveying.
