Shaun M. Kotwitz Joins GBA Architects and Engineers as CFO
Lenexa, Kan. (December 16, 2009) – GBA, a leading engineering and architectural firm with headquarters here and offices in the St. Louis and Chicago metro areas, announced today that Shaun Kotwitz has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer. Kotwitz will assume the position currently held by Richard D. Monroe, Vice President and Treasurer, who will retire in February 2010. As CFO, Kotwitz will be responsible for day-to-day financial and accounting operations and will play a key role in developing and implementing financial and accounting strategy and policies.

Smith, PE, President and CEO. “Shaun will work alongside Rich Monroe, who will retire in February after a long and very successful career at GBA, to assure a smooth transition moving forward.”
Kotwitz joins GBA with 15 years of experience in the financial and accounting fields, including most recently serving as the Controller for a consulting engineering firm. Earlier he was with Applebee’s International as Senior Manager of Accounting Policies. Kotwitz is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Kansas and a graduate of Missouri State University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Kotwitz, his wife, and two children make their home in Olathe, Kan.
